Our second Saturday in London: Cause of the sunny weather Tina, Katja, Dorit, Theresa and me decided to do a “little” Sightseeing.
The plan was to see as much as we can. Therefore we got up at 7 in the morning, took a quick shower, had breakfast and went out of the house at 9 o’clock. We took the tube to Westminster. The First we saw when we left the underground was Houses of Parliament with Big Ben. There were so many people, but we managed to take pictures without somebody’s head on it.
On the other side of river Thames we could see London Eye. After a short walk we reached Westminster Abbey. The next stop should be Buckingham Palace, so we had to cross the Green Park. The park was so beautiful, partly cause of the squirrels. They weren’t afraid of the people and crossed our way several times. Beside the squirrels there were a lot of ducks, pigeons and other birds. The walk through the park ended with the view of Buckingham palace. We were a little disappointed, cause the guards with their red uniform and the black hats weren’t in sight. So we left the Place and went to Piccadilly Circus and afterwards to Trafalgar Square, where we saw a demonstration against the pope. Tina, Theresa and me climbed on the base of Nelson’s Column. It wasn’t as easy as we thought. By this time it was late afternoon and our feet were tired. But we kept up and started another walk to St. Paul’s Cathedral. Darkness had come as we took the tube to Westminster again. This time we stayed only a few minutes to take some pictures of London Eye and Houses of Parliament by night. It was after 9 o’clock in the evening when we arrived at home.
